Even though it is winter, with some nights down to and below freezing temperatures, many Alligators are still out and about during the day around the swamp.
Supposedly they don’t eat it when it is cold, their metabolism slowing in a process called brumation.
I still want to keep my distance.
I would not dare to come close to these lovely creatures. Glad that I can admire them through your beautiful photos.

Whoa! The alligators look pretty scary to this New Englander!
As a former New Englander I never thought I’d become so accustomed to being around alligators. They still make me jump when one I didn’t see splashes into the water.
Reptiles are strange beasts!
They sure are, Liz! Some of their behaviors are fascinating and other times they seem so dull.
Now that’s what I call peaceful cohabitation!
