The Barred Owl owlet has learned to fly from tree to tree, but staying balanced and using his wings once he lands is going to take some practice.

Mom was in the next tree watching as he wobbled a bit, then used both wings for balance.

    1. I’m always amazed at how these owls can fly through the trees with that big wingspan, it just seems like they should crash! Glad that you liked them, thanks.

  1. I’ve been watching an eagle nest cam at Explore.org.
Watching the little superchicken learn to walk with giant, clownish feet was a real gas!
One hatchling in California fell out of its nest, and a member of The Raptor Resource Project saw it.
He donned his climbing gear, picked up the baby eagle, and climbed the tree to put it back in the nest!

    1. It is amazing how fast they grow, and no wonder they have mismatched sizes on their body parts for a while. Wow, that human had quite an experience!
