We had a glorious, if not quite right for the middle of winter, weather day today. It was sunny and temps were in the low 70s (21C). I spotted several Cloudless Sulphur butterflies zipping around the swamp this afternoon.
Brightly colored Camellias, which bloom all winter here, were popular feeding spots.
This nearly gone by Jonquil didn’t look like much but the butterfly spent some time working it over.
This dandelion bloom hardly made it through the fallen leaves, making a perfect low spot for the butterfly.
Your top photo is beautiful – what a lovely camellia and butterfly! I was very glad to see it. You’d think it was winter here in NZ, we’re getting inundated with rain down south. Southland has actually declared an emergency according to a tweet I saw on Twitter earlier. That’ll be due to flooding as Southland is full of rivers and streams. We’re only a half-hour drive from Southland, just in Otago here. And its rain, rain, rain.

Wow on the rain. All these extremes are kind of scary; I can’t imagine how the Australians get through the day with all that worry.
