These two Great Blue Herons flew onto the path all riled up about something, likely a territory dispute.
The one in the rear was advancing with a menacing posture. I got to the edge of the path and backed away from them, trying to let them do their thing.
Mr. Puffy veered off towards the pond on the left while The Strutter came closer to me.
Mr. Puffy, just seen through the greenery, continued towards the pond while The Strutter increased the distance between them before moving to the edge of the pond.
LOL love this! They squabble too!! hee hee
Thanks, Donna, and oh, yes on the squabbling.
Oh my gosh Ellen, what a wonderful catch! That kerfuffled heron is priceless!!!
Thanks, Tina, it was something to see!
Great photos, Ellen! I’ve never herons on land before or having a squabble. 😏
Thanks Belinda! They often walk along these paths looking for sticks for their nests but this squabble was something else 🙂
Cool images!
Thank you and thanks for stopping by!
High drama 🙂
Oh yes, thankfully they usually shake it off and move on!
