Flocks of Brown Pelicans provided a spectacular end of day show at Folly Beach on Monday.
A steady parade of small groups flew over the dunes.
The sunset fizzled out as the orb disappeared into a heavy bank of clouds at the horizon.

I love watching pelicans glide, and this sunset scene really captures the serenity of the moment, and the beauty of the pelican. Nice series, Ellen.
Oh, yes, and we were gifted with a seemingly endless parade of them that night. Thank you, Jet!
Really lovely!
Thank you!
What a wonderful time of day for pelican watching! Beautiful shots, Ellen. We often see them flying north – or south – right along the coast line. I like to wonder where it is they’re going ☺️ Sometimes it amazes me how close they can fly to the water at a high speed when they’re fishing!
Yes, Pelicans are very entertaining! I have wondered, too. And where did they come from??? And where do they sleep???? So many questions 🙂 . Occasionally there was a small group going in the opposite direction, defying all of my theories. Thanks!
Exactly! Just when I think they’re all heading north, a bunch goes south, and vice versa.
🙂 We probably think more about it than they do!
😅
These are stunning and purely magical visions, Ellen!
Thank you kindly, Peter! I love to watch the Pelicans glide and paired with a sunset was a real treat.
These are beautiful, Ellen ❤
Thank you, Donna!
