This Black Swallowtail took full advantage of a Buttonbush flower cluster, checking it out from multiple angles while upside down.
He rotated around the orb while constantly manipulating the flowers.
In typical butterfly fashion when he was done he just let go and flitted off.
It’s nice to see the butterfly in various poses. Fine series, Ellen!
Thanks, Belinda, glad that you liked them. We haven’t seen many butterflies this summer, not sure if it is too hot, too wet, or what.
What a delicate wonder! The shape and color is gorgeous you did a wonderful job capturing its beauty!
Thanks, Sandra, glad that you enjoyed the Swallowtail.
Wonderful moment, fun to see a hanging butterfly with its belly towards the viewer.
Thanks, Hans!
