Most of the trees around the pond have dropped their leaves, leaving the backdrop of tree limbs looking dull and lifeless. This remaining blaze of orange set off the Great Blue Heron nicely. It was a bit far and a dull day so the bird is kind of soft but I liked the overall look.

Light seems to strike the bird, making it stand out from the background. A great mix of colors.

Probably better that it was a cloudy day; sun on all those silvery trees and the Spanish Moss makes a harsh light.
