Several Green Herons were being elusive in the mangroves at the edge of a pond. I caught this fellow by surprise, for both of us.

He quickly adjusted.

Gave me one more shot then dove into the underbrush.

You can be proud of these shots Ellen.
🤗🤩🤗
Green Herons always seem to have more personality than their bigger brethren and your photos really capture the emotional range of this energetic little heron.
They do have a bit of sass! Thanks 😃
I finally spotted my first Green Heron of the year and just posted some photos. “My” Green Heron was calm and well behaved, but I am looking forwards to seeing some with “sass.” 🙂
