Another selection of Black Skimmers where the light was poor but the action was interesting as the birds wove around Alligators.

am loving the mirror birds flapping with them. that’s very cool
Glad you like that aspect!
Love the reflective surface!
I just found your comment in spam, in good company with two other long-term followers. Not sure what WordPress is thinking.
Glad you liked the images–I do love reflections 😃.
Ah yes a lot of my comments go to spam too! Not sure what that’s all about
🙃
Lovely! But do the alligators ever go for them?
I’ve seen alligators leap up at Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets flying over, but never a Skimmer. Alligators are creatures of opportunity and also the mothers protect their young, so I would not be surprised to see them try. Especially if their were juvenile alligators around.
So interesting. Thankyou. 🐊
Thanks, glad that you liked these!
Nice photos.. the length and shape of their wings is beautiful in form, especially when reflected in the water as in these shots!
Thanks, Liz! The Skimmers are fascinating birds to watch, and they use every bit of those wings to control their flight.
Love the reflections in the water.
Thanks, Greta, glad that you liked them!
