This Carolina Chickadee was looking for snacks in a cattail, first pecking on the stalk then he advanced to the flower head. He was pretty acrobatic, and pulled out quite a few tufts but I’m not sure he got anything to eat.

Nice series, Ellen! I had this exact scene/scenario a few weeks ago and the chickadee was so fierce with the cattail, there was fluff stuff everywhere! It was quite entertaining, but my photos sucked, lol.
Thanks, Donna! LOL, I deleted a whole bunch I took with him facing away from me. I was pretty happy when he changed position, I was hoping for more fluff 😝.
Excellent series, Ellen. Great clarity and aperture. Always loved Chickadees. 🙂
Thanks, Jane! Their spunky nature makes them fun to watch.
These are wonderful!
Thanks, Belinda!
