The marsh grasses were sporting their early winter, almost drab, look near the end of December.

This Great Blue Heron perched on the coveted spot on the Spoonie Tree as the sun went in and out that morning.

The heron stands out beautifully against the reeds. I particularly like the golden background!
That really is a great perch, I’ll be sorry the day that dead tree finally falls over.
I hope you are tucked in from the oncoming storm, Belinda. We were fortunate that the ice and sleet passed to the west of us but radar shows it marching north at pretty good clip leaving a mess in its wake!
I remember that tree from both your posts.
It’s been bitterly cold the last few days and now it’s snowing heavily, ugh! I’m glad it passed you by.
Looks fantastic Ellen.
Thank you, Leanne!
