The concentration of strands and zig-zap pattern made this little spider web stand out from the potted plants.

At a different angle I could see the spider through the web.

Look closely for a series of strands further out from the center, more easily seen between the plant leaves.

Brilliant! Really interesting having the different views and I really like the middle one in particular!
Thanks, Liz! This was in a pot on our patio and I watched him over a few days.
Wow, that’s a lot of zigzags. I am more familiar with spiders that have a zigzag “path” into the center of their webs. Nice spotting of this cool little spider, Ellen.
Thanks, Mike. I would have liked to see him make it—seems like it would have been a lot of work.
That’s quite amazing, it looks as if the web is floating between the leaves instead of dangling on them. Never seen this before.
I hadn’t either and didn’t even know what it was at first.
Fascinating pattern, Ellen. Great shots.
Thanks, Jane, it was neat to see.
Wow, I’ve never seen one like that. You have been holding out on me !
Well, I do know how you feel about spiders!
Lovely photos Ellen!
