This Juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron looks like he’d been fishing, and maybe fell in.

He was perched in a little patch of sun on a water control trunk at the edge of an old rice field pond.

  1. How beautiful, I must get back to Donnelly as soon as the humidity settles. I sat out with my Grandson fishing in Hardeeville and ended up with a chigger 🙂

    1. Thanks, Alice. It was pretty quiet, and hot, that morning. We walked the Boynton trail and mosquitoes were are most seen movement. At the ponds this guy was about it.
      Ugg, those things are wretched!
