Green Herons tend to be secretive, perched in foliage or up against a pond bank. This fellow was right out in the open.

His ability to balance controling is incredible. Where is the center of gravity for that streached bird pearching on a branch?
Yes! That’s a great question. They only weigh about 8 ounces, pretty amazing that they can do that at all!
