It was something of a challenge to get a nice composition of this dragonfly while keeping my feet out of the garden bed.
Somewhat oddly, he never took flight while I was watching.
And he was the only one I saw in this 100 foot (30 meter) long garden.

Thank you, Liz! Those lilies were an extraordinary shade of red…maroon… somewhere in that spectrum. I returned to that spot this morning and those flowers have all gone by, and some white ones have popped open. I waited for a dragonfly to stop by, but it was not to be today.
