It’s always a delight to spot a Camellia with dangling blooms.

This plant was in a small clearing that is home to the African American cemetery at Magnolia Plantation. The surrounding trees and shrubs provided protection from the mild overnight frost as well as made a lovely backdrop.

This blossom, lit by the dappled sun, had fallen to the ground, perhaps up righted with human intervention in the hour before I passed by.

Very nice. You always do so much better than me with these 😀.
A little more patience maybe, although I could hear the Great Blue Herons calling…

Thank you!
Lovely and what a background!
It was a great set up, just waiting for me 😊
gorgeous colour and flowers.
Camellias are truly a wonder of our winter with all of the color and shape varieties. And closed blossoms can withstand a frost so they keep on giving.
