I heard a high pitched bird call. Eagle was my first thought. I turned my head and there, high in a pine tree, not one but two Bald Eagles.
I tried to get a slightly better angle to avoid having branches sprouting from their heads. The best I could do was swap branches.

These turned out terrific Ellen, I know what you mean, I have a place I go to photograph them. They are high above in the trees, and they just sit there looking at all of us looking at them. There always seems to be a branch in the way.

Yes, one day there might be all sorts of birds, and like you said, the next day nothing. 🙂
