It is amazing how the heron can keep its balance in that position and how strong its claws must be. If you look closely at the pictures, you realize that only two claws keep it on the branch. Very nice sequence on a sustainable fisherman.

Yes, it is, Hans! I’ve seen them do this before in similarly precarious positions, half expecting the bird to fall. And all that work for such a little snack.
