I spotted these two on a collision course. The Alligator wasn’t making a wake but he was moving.

The Grebe’s buddy popped up and between them they had more curiosity than the Alligator.

A few minutes later I saw another Alligator drifting along. It was a warm day, in the 60s (15 to 18 C), with more Alligator activity for December than you might expect.

Interesting that they share the same water in harmony.
Yes, smarter than humans! The Grebe could still be the Alligator’s lunch, Hans, but it is just as likely an Eagle could pluck him up!
I walked along a lake yesterday, and probably got closer to the edge than I normally would because I didn’t see any gators out. I should’ve known better, but I did get a decent photo of a anhinga. Have a good day
