These two dragonfly perches, one a random piece of rebar and one a dead branch, are just a few feet from each other in the corner of a local pond.

I took these three images within a couple of minutes while several dragonflies chased each other off these coveted spots.

I took this final picture at a 90 degree angle from the one just above, capturing a completely different background.

I love these shots. I occasionally get a shot of a dragonfly on a similar piece of rebar at a local pond. It is always fun to work the angles. I love head-on shots, though I do know that side shots are better for the purposes of identification.
Thanks, Mike! They certainly are adaptable in their perch choice, from the flimsy grass ends you had images of yesterday to solid metal. This was an easier head-on shot than some as the stick was quite tall.
