Daddy Long Legs spiders were climbing all over this small clump of spotted beebalm.

The dappled sun was warming after a cool start and prey possibilities including smaller insects may have become active, too.

I have no idea what this one is doing; I wondered if it was laying eggs but all information I’ve found says they lay their eggs in dirt.

These legs are realy long !!
Yes, and thin! I had several shots that I cut off a lot of the legs as I couldn’t really see where they ended.
My favourite spider (only favourite spider that is!) Wonderful shot 🤗
I’m not much of a spider fan, either, but the Daddy Long Legs has always seemed pretty benign 🤣.
Yes, something friendly about them. 😏
Wonderful find and photo, Ellen! How great to spot …and in October!
Thanks, Belinda! I was pretty surprised, both to see them that late and to find them out in the wild. I’ve mostly seen them in the house/garden environment.
