I’m not sure which one of this pair actually took the flight; it was about five minutes after this first image that I noticed that one of them was gone.

The one left behind definitely noticed. “Hey, where’d my brother go?”

Not far as it turns out, on that first hop.

Oooh, that was fun!

Now what do I do?

He eventually made his way to the top of this branch and took off, After circling around the back side of the island he returned to the nest, a real flight!
Wow. What a cool thing to observe as the youngsters learn to fly.
It’s a lot of fun, Mike! I hope you get to see it with the Eagles you are watching.
First Solo Flight!
Congratulations are in order!

I bet they have quite a rooting section! Very nice!
It’s interesting watching the other juvenile birds while this is going on. Some are very interested, you can see they are trying to figure it out. And of course any photographers present are practically cheering.
Yay! Can you imagine what they are thinking when they go that first time?!! The looks are priceless!! 🙂
Wheeeeee! Yes, and coming in for the landing is always an adventure.
