Tricorlored Herons are much more energetic than most of the herons and egrets I see. They zoom along, with short flights and bursts of running as they search for food.

This pair, a juvenile on the left and adult on the right, were very entertaining as the took turns chasing each other back and forth in front of me.

I don’t think I saw either one catch a fish while this was going on. There was a nice breeze which kept the mosquitoes away but interfered with getting a nice reflection.
