Wading Birds in Flight

Bye-bye Birds

This is an image from early July which at the time didn’t seem so interesting, being mostly bird butts. Now that we’ve spent several weeks seeing almost no birds this appeals to me more.

This is just a small part of what I estimated to be at least a thousand birds in the shallow water at the marsh edge. I could not get closer due to a huge alligator blocking the trail.

  1. Bird activity has seemed unusual for a while.
Some days are average, and sometimes there’s not a bird to be found anywhere.
I’d say perhaps I’d never noticed as much before, but then again, I;d have noticed, as I am doing now.

    Seek peace,

    1. 🙂 Sometimes we don’t notice things until they aren’t there, the change itself is harder to be aware of. I expect that you would notice especially having been in that area for a long time.

This is our third summer in SC and every year has been different. Its hard to know all the forces that are in play. More change is coming with Storm Florence bearing down on us.
