I had a rare opportunity with a Carolina Wren out in the open this morning, and on an interesting branch.

He made a quick flip before diving into the underbrush, showing me his other side.

This is a bird that has mostly eluded my camera despite how common they are, even in my back yard. I was pretty happy to get both shots.
Great shots, Ellen!
Great job, Ellen, in capturing images of this very elusive bird that seems to spend most of its time skulking about in the underbrush.
Thanks, Mike! About a half second later he dove into said underbrush 😆.
Great, I know how difficult it can be, they are moving around all time.
Thanks, Hans!
And so the chase for her White Whale ends… what’s next 😳
