Dappled sun lit up the Clematis flowers at my backyard arbor this morning.

The orange spot at about 11 o’clock in this full bloom is a tiny spider.

The Middleton Place barnyard cat is something of an independent fellow that chooses his leisure spots based on his idea of comfort.

Here a bit of sun had been warming the bricks behind one of the barnyard displays. Ted called it a cauldron –toil & trouble and all that.

The cat didn’t care and clearly wasn’t worried about that giant thing falling on him.

My favorite picture of him is from 2021:Â Barnyard Cat, Stretch and Snooze

I was happily surprised to spot this vibrant garden bed on Wednesday at Middleton Place. We’ve had many nights below freezing, which pansies and violas can tolerate, but I did not expect to see poppies standing tall.

There were a few bees out and about taking advantage, too.
