One of my favorite flowers decorated by a butterfly

In all stages of bloom, a mass of purple iris line the edge of the path where the statue “Recovery” is installed.
The base of the statue consists of a tiered fountain and pool. No pictures of the statue this time, too many people around.
I do like the white striations in some of the darker purple iris varieties.
And this last one, with its very rich velvety purple was a stand out.

A Katydid that I did not see at the time
April 10, 2022
This little patch of Purple Iris has been hosting a variety of insects, most notably the Mating Damselflies I’ve featured.
Seen from a bit further along the pond.
One of the reasons I’m reluctant to sit on the ground for long:
Another purple Iris, this time with a dreamy green background.
