This variety of Tulip Magnolia reminds me of a daisy. Although more subdued than the flashy pink ones I’ve been featuring the blossoms have their own charm.

Tulip Magnolias are also known as Japanese Magnolias, having taken a circuitous route from their native China to Japan to the US in the 1780s.
This year’s blossom show at Magnolia Plantation has been quite magnificent.
So far the colder nights and light frosts we have experienced have not spoiled the blooms.

A tiny spider took a long stroll across a flower petal…
..and a look out over the edge. He seemed to be all alone in this pink landscape.
A couple more Tulip Magnolia Blossoms–these types of blooms always seem to be in a bit of disarray.
