Camellia season is waning in the SC lowcountry but a few spectacular blooms can still be found.

There are numerous shades of pink.

And seemingly endless flower shapes.

The two-tone varieties are some of my favorites:

Google has shared with me: “There are over 250 known species of camellias, with more than 30,000 cultivars registered or published.”

That is a beauty.
This has been a banner year for blooms in this area, and the variety continues to amaze me!
Gorgeous!
All are quite beautiful.
Thanks, Rebecca, it has been quite a year for the flowers. Just the right amount of cold over the winter I guess.
Really lovely blooms. I’ve been tempted to put one in my yard… but haven’t committed yet.
So far visiting others has worked for me, but I sure get that pull. There are so many varieties I’m not sure how you would chose!
