This was a cool morning and a spot in the sun was welcome.

All comfy now, time for 40 winks.

A Pea Hen was perched on the wall around the Middleton Place Stable Yard late one afternoon.

I hadn’t seen or heard any Pea Fowl at Middleton this spring and had wondered if they still hosted any. They roam free and easily fall victim to any number of predators.

Looking around I only saw this one dapper looking hen, no Peacocks. Other years a half dozen or more were all around the stable area.

The pair of swans at Middleton Place do not fly and can easily get out of the pond on the other side, but why bother when you have a long neck?

The best grass is w-a-y up the bank.

The sun was warm on a cooler day this spring and he seemed to enjoy just laying his head on the grass.

I’ve now taken hundreds of pictures of the three little lambs investigating their world; here’s a selection from April 21st.

The moms know it is almost feeding time; the lambs — well two of them — have their interest piqued, too.

The lambs are now getting a share of their moms’ grain.

The lambs aren’t yet as diligent about getting their grain.

Just cute!

Single lamb was born on April 7th, and the set of twins was born April 9th.
I visited the lambs at Middleton Place on April 17th and gave a chuckle when I saw this scene of the 9 day old cutie snuggling up with mom.

A chuckle, not an outright laugh, because I could not spot the twin lamb.

After junior 1 settled on the ground for another nap I could just see another white tuft behind mom. Phew!

Junior 2 had been nestled in on mom’s other side.

She took a little stroll and it wasn’t long before they both hopped up to join her.

Hi, mom!

Where are we going?

I can beat you!

I meant to do that!

Let’s check it out together!

The sheep have free run of the lawn in front of the House Museum at Middleton Place.

A brick fence keeps them out of the Azaleas and garden areas.

Most of the time the flock is pretty sedate, but occasionally one and then all will think they need to investigate something. Sheep, the original FOMO (fear of missing out) creatures.

I stopped by the Middleton Place stable yard just as the Cashmere Goats were having their dinner.

One of the pair was plopped in the middle of their manger, hogging the hay and taking advantage of a padded eating spot.

The standing goat went for a drink then shared his take on the situation.
